Natural Green Jade Point
Size: 75 mm
It is one of the world-famous seven main gems. Jadeite is leading the list and it is called the “pearl of the East”. A ring with a grain of a perfect jadeite is much more expensive than the same ring with a perfect diamond. It is also considered a symbol of wealth, self-realization. And it has a very large investment meaning, as it constantly gains in value.
In the Stone Age, scrapers, knives, and spearheads were made from jadeite.
The mineral received its name from the French mineralogist Alexis Damour in 1863. Before this, jadeite and nephrite were both called “jade”. By the way, in English literature both minerals are still called “jade”. There is nothing to be surprised about because the minerals are very similar.
The truth is that jadeite is rarer and it costs more.
And the word “jade” came from the Spanish “piedra de ijada” – or a loin stone. Heated stones were placed in sick places (for example on the lower back).
How can you combine the stones?
In a word, jadeite can be combined with aquamarine, moonstone, emerald, nephrite, labradorite. But it doesn't always work. In order for the stone not only to decorate, but also to show its properties, it must be chosen correctly. And good “neighbors” must be matched.
